A young professional with a strong background in retail marketing and visual merchandising; I’m ready to further utilise my creativity and knowledge of these industries to play a key role in creating innovative and successful campaigns. A University of Hull Politics graduate, I’m keen to put my writing, analytical and organisational skills to use to further succeed in the above areas.
In the years since leaving university, I have gained significant experience in both retail and traditional marketing roles for two well-renowned companies. Firstly, I worked for the retail chain Arcadia in a visual merchandiser role for the ‘Topman’ brand. This experience was hugely valuable in that it promoted good working relationships, inspired creativity and was by its nature very customer-focussed.
Most recently however I worked for Maplin Electronics in a marketing executive role. During my time there I was involved an all aspects of the marketing mix; from coordinating the PR and advertising to Point of Sale and direct mail production. Working in such a role provided me with invaluable experience – the fast paced, hectic nature of a head-office environment has most definitely prepared me for whatever challenges lay ahead.
In addition to my past employment, I have also held a position as an unpaid intern at the local constituency office of Ed Miliband MP. Originally undertaken to compliment my degree subject, I found the experience of working in public office hugely beneficial in that it helped me appreciate the rigours of working life.
I am motivated, dedicated and most definitely ambitious. I’m looking for a role that is fresh, challenging and that can best utilise the experience I have already gained in the work place.
